Washington Post likes bloggers?

I posted up that link earlier today about the python eating the alligator. Then, later, when I went to get the link to show someone else, I noticed this:

House of Fury buy

They have a list of trackbacks in their articles! They’re so cool. (Yes, I know this is just so they get more links from bloggers… thereby promoting more traffic to their site. I’m ok with that.)Dont Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood dvd

NDSD has expanded in recent years to offer both in-person and online screening for four of the most common and frequently co-occurring mental disorders: depression, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.

NDSD Mental Health Screening is designed to call attention to mood and anxiety disorders on a national level, to educate the public and clinicians about the symptoms and effective treatments, to offer individuals the opportunity to be screened for the disorders, and to connect those in need of treatment to the mental health care system.

Boring paint ahead

You know those signs they have up, usually near playgrounds, that say, “Slow Children Playing”? I always read them as mentally challenged children who are playing in the area. Or even children who move at toroise-like speeds on the playground.

On my way out from work yesterday, I noticed a pillar with a sign taped to it that said, “Slow Wet Paint.” Then another one on another pillar at the top of the ramp. Now, I know slow children playing doesn’t actually mean handicapped children. So, I know this didn’t actually mean it was excessively boring paint to watch dry. But, what does it mean? “Slow, wet paint!” Ok, but I don’t usually drive into pillars anyway. Why not just, “Wet paint”? Or even, “Caution: Wet Paint”?

It wasn’t until I drove in this morning that I figured it out. People usually put a sign on the thing that is painted, but they had painted the ground, so they couldn’t very well do that. Drive slowly over it, so the paint wouldn’t streak. Couldn’t they have drawn an arrow or something? It took me a day to figure it out. That seems less than optimal. Maybe other people figured it out sooner, but I asked TLD and he didn’t even see the signs.

Caution: Slow Human Driving.

P.S. Happy Ramadan!
