My first attempt at following a pattern! It was a good learning experience. I think I should try something more pastel-y next time. I had some trouble getting the border started because I’ve never crocheted perpendicular to stitches before. I figured it out after a bit, but you can tell on the other side that I didn’t do the stitches quite right. This is a pattern I can use again though. Very soft. :)

Very lovely. How long have you been crocheting? And…urm…is it pot holder? a fabric trivet? the front face of a pillow cover? Sorry, but I’m not very versed in the crochet world.

Oh, oops. I guess I should have been more detailed. ;)
It’s a baby blanket, about a meter square. I’ve been crocheting for years… maybe 15-20? I don’t remember when I first learned. I’ve always made rectangles — usually scarves and blankets, just going until I ran out of yarn. This is the first time I’ve actually followed instructions.

Wow, I had no idea it was so big! Congratulations on completing such a work. It’s very fun. Whose lucky baby will get wrapped up in it in the future?
