Pre-Pregnancy is a pre-existing condition

I received a prescription from my primary care physician that my insurance wouldn’t pay for because I wasn’t diagnosed with narcolepsy. I then went to a neurologist to figure out what was wrong with me. He referred me to get a sleep study done. I had a follow-up appointment with the neurologist to find out what the results were.
I, in fact, did
have narcolepsy. Now, my insurance will pay for my medication. Woo! What they won’t download The Express movie American High School movie download
District 9 download cover, however, is my follow-up visit to the doctor telling me what the diagnosis was. It was a pre-existing condition, so they won’t pay for me to see a doctor about it.
A pre-existing condition?? If I already had it, why wouldn’t they pay for the medication? I called my insurance to dispute this claim and the woman on the phone was too busy on IM to actually finish her own sentences. She kept getting distracted and not offering me information. Damn. I just realized I forgot to ask her for her name.
I asked her what the definition of a pre-existing condition was. “It’s, uh, you know… something you already had… before you went to this doctor.” Something I already had? Or something that was previously diagnosed? Because if my primary doctor telling you I “probably” had narcolepsy wasn’t enough to cover my medication, that shouldn’t be enough to make me pay for this visit to a specialist to confirm that I *have* narcolepsy.
Maybe this is why people don’t want to go see doctors. I like my doctor. I don’t particularly like her staff.
“What is her earliest appointment?”
“There’s an opening at 10am.”
“Oh, hm… that’s the earliest?”
“Well, you can come in at 9:15.”
“Ooh, that’s better.”
“How about 8:30?”
Seriously, yo. Earliest
. I’m not trying to negotiate here.
And I definitely don’t like my insurance… They do their best to not pay for stuff and make me not want to see my doctor. So maybe if I just went ahead and fell asleep while driving, they would be ok with paying for my hospital bills. Or maybe I’d get to talk to the car insurance people then. I’m sure that will be much better.Werewolf: The Devils Hound full movie

I am. My insurance just won’t pay for anything because I either had symptoms before, which makes this a pre-existing condition, or I was undiagnosed, which means they won’t pay for the meds.

Insurance companies can be a bitch. My psychiatrist had to write nine letters to my insurance company to get them to cover me for my bipolar disorder. Explaining I was incredibly unstable, needed medication and regular therapist visits otherwise I would probably wind up committing suicide. It took the better part of four months. Fortunately she saw me for free and kept me medicated with samples until they finally coughed up.
