Hints for Captain Obvious

Dear Heloise Maxed Out: Hard Times, Easy Credit and the Era of Predatory Lenders hd : I usually watch the news at night to see what the WEATHER is going to be the next day so that I can dress accordingly. However, sometimes the weatherperson is not on the mark.
We recently moved to a house that has a garage, which we always park our vehicles in, so I don’t find out that the weather has changed until I am on my way to work. Sometimes I have on capris and sandals when I really should have worn pants and closed-toe shoes.
So, now before I change out of my pajamas, I step out onto the back deck to check the weather. This has saved me several times from being cold the whole day! Hope someone else can use this! — Karen Kay, Universal City, Texas
Karen, you are right! The other day, the TV said that it was going to be clear and 72. When I got up and started my day, it was raining and a little chilly, so it is always better to check outside so that you aren’t surprised! — Heloise
Are you people kidding
The Blackout dvd me?? This got published in the newspaper? Last week, there was a hint about buying meat on sale to save money. You can even freeze it until you need it. *Wow*
Hints collected from my friends:
- When I go to the grocery store, I sign up for the savings club and use my card to save money each time I buy groceries.
- I read the newspaper everyday and there is a helpful column where people can write in and share everyday hints.
- The post office has these new stamps you can use that does not require licking. They are self-adhesive and cost the same as regular stamps!

Okay, less obvious, but if you use the savings club cards, go ahead and sign up for Upromise and register your cards. It’s pennies back, but they add up and you don’t have to have a child or 529 account to use the program; just periodically ask them to send you a check.

Better than the Oceanography class I took. First lecture, “You can not breath under water.” I look around and see the whole lecture hall taking notes. I was like WTF!

Thanks, Carter. I heard about this when I was just about done with school and started an account. I just checked… and I have $20.66. Woo! :)
