New Faucet!

Ian and I have started being handy around the house and are finally replacing our leaky faucets. So exciting!

Advantages of new faucet:
- Does not leak
- Has a spout that rotates
- Handles are much easier to turn on and off when hands are wet or dirty

It also reminds me of Gonzo’s nose.

We’re going to get another one like this to put in the master bath and a different one by the same company for the kitchen. Out of all the faucets at home depot, there were only a handful that we could agree on. And most were this brand (Pegasus). They have a lot more character than the other ones we saw.

Oh, and Kohler faucets are pretty, but ridiculously expensive! That’s the only brand I had heard of before we started looking around, but I had no idea how much they cost before. ~$250-300 for a bathroom faucet. *gasp*

Also on the list:
- Shower heads
- Curtains
- Paint!

  1. It is very beautiful! You are also a very good sales rep. so when are you going to replace ours? hehe…

  2. We replaced our old bathroom faucet with a Pegasus-brand faucet. It’s worked out very nicely, except (and you knew there was going to be an “except,” right) the little H and C tabs that denote hot and cold supply tend to pop off very easily. They’re just little metal flaps held in place by tension and we ended up with one or five of those little flaps breaking off. Pegasus was pretty quick in sending replacements (for free), however …

  3. Interesting… The one on display at Home Depot was missing the flaps too. We were concerned that that’s just what they looked like, but they were clearly shown on the box. Have you tried puttying them in place or anything? Do they still function well otherwise? Thanks for the info!

  4. I don’t think you’d want to use putty; they’re there to cover up the screw at the top of the valve stem. They function fine without them, it’s just “unfinished” looking. Our replacement set’s worked out fine (actually, they sent a little baggie with two or three of each letter, so it must be a known issue for Pegasus), but they do pop off if the toothpaste tube falls out of the medicine cabinet and hits it at just the right angle or if you grab the handle in a peculiar way. Other than that, we’ve found them to be nice looking and quality faucets. Ciao!
