Fast forward 30 minutes…

I did, however, forget my keys this morning… and then forgot my cell phone in the car, so i had to dial the front desk to get in. Then I had to explain that I really did live there… I just forgot my keys.
Sigh.
So, since I last updated, I went to use the bathroom before heading out of the office. And when I got back to my office, Boss Jr was back in his office. At 11pm.
Then, I left shortly after that (Boss jr was on the phone with Australia) and saw our COO driving out of the parking garage.
Off to bed now. Have a long day of goodbyes tomorrow.

sorry – i KNOW lay-off day sucks. We had four lay-off days at my old startup and thankfully I always made it thru…but nothing makes lay-off day better.

Yeah, they’re trying to avoid the multiple rounds of layoffs here, so they just did it all in one fell swoop… with the expectation that we’ll be overworked in a few months. But they prefer that to decreasing morale every week waiting to get axed and having good people leave for other opportunities so they don’t have to wait around and worry.

Why the layoffs? A guy at work who is a programmer quit because he was frustrated for doing stuff that was not programming (IE: maintaining the database and answering stupid questions from people who don’t know how to utilize the database). They escorted him out like a common criminal and formatted his computer only a few hours later! Quite the scandal.
