Another Year

I spent a good part of the day reading through all the 9-11 articles in the major newspapers. And I came across a blog entry that a friend of Ian’s wrote last year, on the 5th anniversary:
In the next five years, unlike the last five, I hope we use their memory to inspire us to actually make the US and the world safer for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, instead of making us less safe, or settling old scores… (more)
I received a very eloquent email through the VT alumni association with some uplifting words and a challenge to the Virginia Tech community to better the world in the form of community service. Aside from that, the day seemed to go along like any other.
