So, on my flight down here, we were getting ready to leave 15 minutes early and had pulled away from the gate. The flight attendants had gone through their spiel about buckling up and whatnot. The pilots tell the flight attendants to be seated for takeoff. Then, one of the flight attendants asks if there are any doctors or nurses on the plane. No one responds, but we’re all sticking our heads up over the seats like prairie dogs. Some guy was having chest pains and the pilot was all like, “If you don’t stop dying, I’m going to turn this plane right back around.” And the guy was all like, “Errrggghhh.” So the pilot turned the plane around and made him leave.
Dropped off the heart attack guy, refueled, and were on our way. After landing, I picked up my stuff, got my rental car+GPS, and went straight over to the Museum of Discovery and Science My Life in Ruins Blur download
for a couple hours. It wasn’t as entertaining as I thought it would be. I think I’m spoiled by the Smithsonian, for sure. But I went to the Science Museum in Boston and that was awesome. It was still geared toward kids, but there were fun things to play with and things to learn. There were a few cool things here, but overall, it wasn’t that exciting. I have some pictures and a couple videos that I’ll post up eventually. They had these huge insects in one wing that I was not prepared to have start moving toward me. Totally freaked me out.
I’m also very disappointed by the lack of postcards around here. I tried to get some at the museum, hotel, and convention center. I think I actually have to go look for a tourist trap and buy some. So much work…
The conference is going well. I haven’t collected much stuff, but I’ve talked with almost half the companies with booths at the expo. I passed on the biggest carabiner I’ve ever seen. I’m kind of regretting it now though. I didn’t know what I’d do with it, so I didn’t take one. But now I want to show people and I don’t have one. So sad. But I’m 2 business cards shy of my requirement for attending. I think I’ll be all set tomorrow, with extra credit.
Ok, brain shutting down for the night. Need sleep to prepare for more human interaction tomorrow.
So, I know I’m officially an adult now and all… But I don’t own my own luggage. I’m going on a business trip for 4 days and needed to borrow a suitcase from my dad. He gave me what seemed like an appropriately sized suitcase. I have conference-related events 3 of the days and will have a good part of the day to myself on 2 of the days.
Accordingly, I have now packed over a week’s worth of clothes, a swimsuit, 2 pairs of shoes, books, my binder for class, electronics, chargers, hair stuff, an extra purse, makeup, jewelry… As much as I think I might possibly consider using, including backups for spills, changing my mind on what color I feel like wearing, and options for different weather conditions and I still only have half the suitcase filled. Apparently when all your clothes are made of spandex, they don’t take up very much space. I could even fit an iron, winter coat, and pillow in the space I have left. But I won’t. Because why do I need a coat in Florida?
Update: Ok, I’ve added rollers, a light jacket, a hat, casual socks, and a second swimsuit. Because, you know, I might change my mind about what I want to wear to the beach.Made of Honor hd

EDIT: I originally posted this because I thought the program was really cool. But I’ve been reading more about the computer and it’s amazing. Solar power and pull-cord options for recharging the battery. It’s designed for kids and collaborating. The laptops automatically detect each other and give you the capability to transfer music, videos, documents, etc. without prior setup. It allows you to let other people view your screen while you’re working, so you can edit documents and work together without having to crowd around one screen.
It’s also designed for harsh environments, so you don’t have to worry about rain, spills, dropping it, or dusty environments. And it weighs 3 pounds. I’m so impressed with this. I was all talk about just sending this to a kid. I want one to play with! Maybe I’ll let Juniorita play too.

Man, I had no idea how much competition I had for google. I finally thought to google “marry google”
and there were over 2000 links. Then I checked out “I want to marry google”

, which resulted in over a hundred links. Not surprisingly, there was an overwhelming majority of females interested in google nuptials and few, if any, men. At least no screennames or blog titles that sounded male.
It’s kind of creepy to read people write about marrying google and making babies. Now, that’s just weird. What would you have? CG babies? Google doodle babies? Little websites that cry a lot at first, but that google will eventually place all its hopes and dreams on, living vicariously through the new websites for whatever google is unable to achieve? Yeah, creepy, right? I think I’ve proved my point.

I think reading all these memoirs is going to my head. I’ve been thinking about writing a book, but then I realize that I haven’t done anything truly book-worthy. Scott Adams just got finished publishing his new book based off of stuff he wrote on his blog. Sure, he has the added advantage of being famous first. But still, I Fighting full movie write interesting things, right? Ok, not always, but often enough that you guys keep coming back. ;)
Anyway, so I realize that I’m probably a bit young to be writing a memoir anyway. But I bet I have some stories that I can flesh out into something. And if I start thinking about it now, maybe I’ll have enough material in 10 years or so to put a book together. Maybe? Check back with me in 2017 and I’ll let you know how it’s going…

I decided yesterday that it was time to backup my blog. I know I should be more diligent about it, but I haven’t backed anything up since I moved to enjanerd.net … about a year and a half ago? Not good.
So, I went to look up what I needed to do to back everything up. There was a built-in plugin that came with WordPress 2.0 that wasn’t included in later versions. Luckily for me, I had a really old version of WordPress.
I did the backup thing and then I installed the upgrade all by myself U.S. Marshals download
. And, as you can see, everything still works! Go me. :)
Oh. And then Ian told me that BlueHost has an auto-update thing for WordPress. I guess I can use that in like 3 years or so when I remember to update again.
Aw, so the girl who took my parking spot decided that she didn’t want to walk all the way from my building to hers. It’s too cold, blah blah. So she wants to give it back next month. Oh well. I’m still going to cancel the spot starting in the new year. I’ll try to stick with my new early schedule and start getting into the office closer to 7:30. It’s good if I can then leave at 3:30, but if Boss Jr starts making me stay until he leaves, I’ll be mad. Or I’ll just leave super-early on Thursdays and have half the week off for my weekend. :)

I just added a “Now Reading” plug-in. I know everyone else has had them for months (years?), but I just decided that I wanted it too. And it’s so convenient.
I can just search for books and it finds the different versions available on Amazon. And it’ll update time-stamp and category for me when I start or finish the book.

Weekend recap — I took Friday off and got a lot done. Spent the morning running errands and working on homework. Apparently my memory is bad enough these days that lying to myself on my calendar is proving to be incredibly effective. I got my car inspection done at the beginning of the month instead of 2 weeks late like I normally would.
After that, met up with TLD, Sarah, and the Warrior Princess for lunch. It was fun catching up with them. We discussed baking competitions, work, the latest on who was saying inappropriate/rude things at work, and knitting patterns. And there seems to be some interest in making gingerbread coworkers this year. I’m very
excited!
Headed out to visit Steph+Juniorita after lunch. Yenny was already over there to have lunch with them. So, I got to hang out with them and ended up staying until dinner. Had just enough time to watch Reign Over Me with Lenny before he had to leave for class. (Very unusual to see Adam Sandler in a serious role, but I think he did a good job. I thought the movie was well done.) I kept Steph company while she fed Juniorita and then skipped out to go see the Joonies.

. I was told that the building used to be a mortuary, so the corridor leading away from the bar had a bunch of private rooms that were intended for viewings. They each had sofas and chairs lining the walls so there was plenty of seating and open space for people to mingle, but the empty space in the middle of the room was basically coffin-sized.
I missed the first band and caught the last half of the second and third bands’ sets. The second band has been played numerous times on DC101′s Local Lix. It must be true because they announced this at least a half dozen times between the 3 songs I heard them perform.
I did enjoy the Joonies though. It was a little melancholy since this was their last show, but they had a blast playing and it showed. I even recognized a few of the songs from the last time I saw them at DC9. I’m definitely glad I got out to see them. (This is one of my coworkers’ band, but the drummer and singer are moving away, so they’re breaking up. *sniffle*)
Saturday, woke up bright and early and watched Numb3rs before getting ready to head over to my parents’ for lunch. Still had about 2 hours before I needed to head over, so I fell asleep reading on the couch… and ended up showing up about 45 minutes late. Oops.
Everyone else bailed this week, so it was just me and the ‘rents. Which was for the best, because I had to catch them up on the week’s gossip. (More on that later…) Brought a bunch of food over to Sonny’s gf afterward since she wasn’t feeling well.
Then headed home to start watching Season 1 of Bones. I can’t believe I waited this long to start watching that show. Why didn’t anyone tell me? I guess it worked out though because now I have a new show to catch up on. Was exhausted by 10, so went to bed early and had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in weeks.
Sunday, I spent reading, watching football, and working on homework. Exciting times, I know. Oh, and in case you guys didn’t read the comments yesterday, I got comments from the author of the book I was reading! That was definitely a suprising highlight for the day.
…And that wraps up the weekend. I’m loving this Friday off thing. I got so much done, but I’m not exhausted from it all.
